Have you ever had that craving for a slice of pizza but you didn’t want to miss the game? Well Johnny’s New York Style Pizza is for you. They have Great Pizza, a friendly staff and Football and more football.

They have 2 120″ TV screens full of football and about 6 smaller screens playing sports all day long. A full bar for what ever pleases you and some of the best thin crust pizza you could ever sink your teeth into.

As I walk through the door into the restaurant I feel as though I am in a real sports bar on Broad Street but with a family friendly atmosphere. I was greeted pleasantly and seated promptly in the space of my choosing next to the front windows. If I had known about the 120″ TV screens I may have asked for a different seat but I could still see the game on one of their smaller screens.

As the waitress introduced herself and asked what I would like to drink I noticed something that I had eaten in an Italian restaurant a long time ago but by a new name. It was called “mini garlic knobs” so I asked her to bring me a order. When they arrived minutes later I knew I had found the right place for a great meal today. They are small little biscuit looking rolls of what seemed like pizza dough wadded up, cooked and smothered in an olive oil and garlic mixture that was so sweet to the taste as garlic should be that I only took a couple home to the wife to try. It’s an hour later now and the garlic taste is gone but the memory of the experience and taste still lingers. Maybe I will drop in this afternoon for another order.

Now for the pizza I ordered. I did not need or want a whole pizza so I looked over the menu and to my surprise they sold their pizza by the slice. This was just what I needed for a light lunch. They sell any of their specialty pizzas by the slice, 12″ or 16″. Slices start at 3.34 each so I ordered their “Johnny’s Deluxe” which is loaded with meats such as sausage, beef, Canadian bacon and pepperoni as well as onions, mushrooms and green peppers. As it was set on the table in less that 10 minutes I was really pleased to see that it was fresh looking and the cheese was melted perfectly. I took my first bite and realized that their was more meat on the pizza than I ever expected. They do not skimp on the toppings yet just put enough sauce as not to overpower the pizza toppings as I have had on other local chain pizzas.

Will I return? YES. Their are so many things to try here such as their other pizzas and their Calzones or Stromboli or maybe their specialty wraps or oven baked subs. There is so much here you just have to see it for your self. As for pricing, it is very reasonable.

Want to stay and eat well parking is rough on Broad St. but you can park in the parking deck behind them for free and walk in their back door at 233 Broad Street.
